How we handle your data, in plain language.

FurryGoods ("we", "us") operates furrygoods.co.uk. We're the data controller for the personal information collected through this site.

Contact: hello@furrygoods.co.uk · Docklands Business Centre, 10-16 Tiller Road, London E14 8PX

What we collect

  • Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, and what you bought. Collected when you check out.
  • Payment: handled entirely by Stripe. Card numbers never touch our systems; we only receive confirmation that payment succeeded.
  • Messages: what you send us by email, and questions you type into the shopping assistant on the site.
  • Device and usage data: pages viewed, approximate location, device type, and identifiers set by cookies (see Cookies below).

Why we use it (and the legal basis)

  • To fulfil your order and send order and delivery updates: performance of a contract.
  • To answer questions and handle returns: performance of a contract / legitimate interests.
  • To keep required business records (orders, invoices): legal obligation. Kept for 6 years in line with UK tax rules.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the site secure: legitimate interests.
  • To measure and improve the shop and our advertising: consent and legitimate interests (see Cookies and Advertising below).

Who we share it with

We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

  • Stripe (payments): your payment and billing details, processed under Stripe's own safeguards.
  • Delivery carriers (for example Royal Mail): your name, address and phone number, to deliver your order.
  • Cloudflare and Vercel (hosting and content delivery): technical data needed to serve the site.
  • Meta (advertising measurement): the Meta pixel on the site, plus hashed (unreadable) versions of contact identifiers, to measure whether our ads led to purchases.
  • Mixpanel (analytics): anonymous-identifier usage data that helps us understand how the shop is used.
  • OpenAI (the shopping assistant): the questions you type to the assistant, so it can answer. No payment details are ever included.
  • Our email delivery provider: your email address, to send order confirmations and delivery updates.

We never sell your personal information.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK (including in the United States). Where they do, transfers are protected by UK-approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.

Cookies

  • Essential cookies keep your cart and checkout working; the site can't function without them.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies (Mixpanel, Meta pixel) help us understand usage and measure ads. You can block or delete these in your browser settings at any time without affecting your ability to shop.

How long we keep things

  • Order records: 6 years (UK tax and accounting rules).
  • Support emails and assistant conversations: up to 2 years.
  • Analytics data: per our analytics providers' retention settings, typically 12 months or less.

Children

FurryGoods sells pet essentials, but the shop is intended for adult purchasers. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to: access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it to you in a portable format. Email hello@furrygoods.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We'll post any changes to this policy on this page.
